Syracuse University Acceptance Rate;    Syracuse University (Syracuse, ‘Cuse, or SU) is a special study institute in Syracuse, New York. The institution’s origins can be traced to the Genesee Wesleyan Seminary, established in 1831 by the Methodist Episcopal Church in Lima, New York.

After many years of discussion over relocating the college to Syracuse, the university was organized in 1870, detached from the college. Since 1920, the university has recognized itself as nonsectarian, although it conserves a connection with The United Methodist Church.
